The File and Folder Layer features within VigilancePro™ enable organisations to rapidly protect key information assets both on local drives and network shares. Whole file actions such as open, copy, move, rename, and delete can be monitored or prevented providing powerful yet flexible file and folder protection ensuring that sensitive data never gets into flight.

A detailed compliance audit trail is provided of all file level actions without the need to enable resource intensive OS auditing. Standard reports show all user interaction with sensitive documents such as M&A plans, product development roadmaps, critical strategic and competitive analyses, financial information and forecasts, detailing exactly who accessed or copied files, and when. Reports can be automatically generated and emailed to management staff or run on demand.

VigilancePro™ provides the basis for the rapid introduction of simple yet highly effective information classification programs. Files may be classified by filename, saved folder location – or a combination of both.

A simple classification scheme with three levels - Public, Internal Use, and Confidential - can be introduced using pre-built template rule sets for each of the levels, eliminating the typical complexity associated with implementing a classification program. Using wizards rules can be created that ensure only certain users can read, change or copy confidential information.
